The Grand Bend Motorplex held its biggest racing event of the year July 18th to 20th , which draws tens of thousands to the area for the 3 day event and the only one of its kind in Ontario. Despite the rain delays, the racing was able to continue into the finals on Sunday. The Mopar Canadian Nationals was the 6th of 10 national events on the IHRA Nitro Jam series schedule.

McGuinty Government improving Hospital services in Exeter with $1 million investment Feb 23. Minister of Health and Long-Term Care George Smitherman along with Huron-Bruce MPP Hon. Carol Mitchell were on hand at South Huron Hospital making the announcment. The McGuinty government is improving access to health services for Exeter-area residents by supporting renovations at the South Huron Hospital Association Emergency Department.

Three De Havlland Chipmunk aircraft visited their former home RCAF Station Centralia May 9. It is hoped this historic event will be the basis for an annual NATO celebration in Huron Park.
